outerlock | 2026, screenprint on ceramics, various sizes
“outerlock” is concerned with the interactions and experiences I have lived through as a trans man during the process of transition. It aims to create a space in which not only I, but also others who have opened themselves to me, can recognize parts of their own experiences.

While tiles used in interior architecture are usually monochromatic and arranged to interlock seamlessly as a building block for the floors, this installation produces a fragmented pattern through variations across the tiles. Repeating images of fingers pointing at one another and at themselves, a hand that extends a piece of paper only to return it with a minimal alteration, half-stopped hourglasses … reflect the dynamics of the processes to which trans individuals are subjected to. There are also images that disrupt the pattern of the tiles, breaking the repetition.
