Hello My Name Is... , 2022, Acrylic on Paper, cardboard, polyfix, 66 x 22 cm
Hello my Name Is, presents an identity in construction. It is a three sided structure that shows the masks of a person melting in stages. In the last stage the person is completely naked and vulnerable, as in terms of getting rid of pretending. The person is unidentified as their name is smudged on the name badge. I wanted to capture the masks as different personas created by this person, leading to the questioning of identity as they melt away.
